🔥 Sinborn Odyssey 2 — v1.3.7 (Alpha)

Full audit pass on every mod's client/server flag. v1.3.6 fixed 2 mods. v1.3.7 fixed 21 more — all the latent mismatches that have been quietly waiting to crash someone.

💀 What we killed

  • 🧪 The "client missing X" disconnect cascade — 20 mods were silently flagged server-only that actually register content (items, structures, lang, recipes, tags). When server had them and client didn't, registry sync failed. Hit us with TWM, then Sculk Sickness, then Alex's Caves Delight, then would have hit us with 17 more on the next connection
  • 📚 The Iceberg ghost — Iceberg was flagged client-only but has actual server-side classes (PlayerAdvancementsMixin, CriterionEvent). Anything that depended on its server-side hooks would have desynced
  • 🔗 The systemic mis-flag pattern — many mods' mods.toml describes their dependencies' required side, not the mod's own side. Easy misread when you're scanning hundreds of mod manifests. We've now cross-referenced every JAR's actual contents against its flag

🛡️ What we hardened

  • 20 server-only flags flipped to both-sides — Sculk Sickness, Alex's Caves Delight, all four YUNG's better-* structures, ct-overhaul-village, Pufferfish's Additions, Powershot, Stop Drop n Roll, Smartbrainlib, Vibrative Voice, Improved Village Placement, Nether Portal Spread, NetherPortalFix, Lithostitched, Lets Do Addon Compat, Seasonal Lets Do, Serene Seasons Fix, Immersive Snow, Ice and Fire × Better Combat, Abridged
  • 1 client-only flag flipped to both-sides — Iceberg
  • 3 confirmed legitimately server-only — Radium, Servercore, AI Improvements (kept)

📊 Final distribution

331 mods → both sides 61 mods → client only (cosmetics + UI) 3 mods → server only (perf/AI optimization)

That's the cleanest this manifest has ever been.

🧹 Under the hood

  • 📦 21 .pw.toml files corrected, manifest auto-rebuilt from index
  • 💾 Save-compatible — no JAR changes, only metadata env flags
  • 🔄 No new mods, no version updates, no scroll changes, no recipe edits
  • 🧠 Audit methodology: cross-referenced each JAR's assets/, data/, mods.toml [[dependencies]], mixin targets, and registry events against its declared side

If you were on v1.3.6

  • Client players: update to v1.3.7 — your client downloads ~21 additional mods that v1.3.6 wrongly excluded
  • Server hosts: reinstall v1.3.7 — but wipe mods/ first if your host doesn't auto-purge (PebbleHost doesn't), or you'll get stale flag mismatches

What this fixes for the long term

This was the audit we should have done at v1.3.0. Now that every mod's env flag is verified against the JAR's actual contents:

  • ✅ Future pack updates won't expose new latent flag bugs
  • ✅ Server installs are deterministic — manifest matches reality
  • ✅ Client/server channel sync should "just work" for every connection
