BetterHitSounds is a lightweight client-side Fabric mod that improves the combat feedback within Minecraft with better hit sounds, smoother combo response, and simple sound customization. BetterHitSounds allows you to replace Minecraft’s default “hit” sound with your own preferred sound style. You can set different sounds for normal hits, combo hits, and crit hits on players or mobs. Additionally, you can import your own custom sounds via OGG while also being able to use built-in preset modes.
You can also reload your imported sounds instantly without restarting your game. BetterHitSounds makes combat feel more alive by letting each type of hit stand out better. Regular hits feel cleaer, combos seem faster and more satisfying, and crits feel stronger and more rewarding.
For BetterHitSounds you will need Fabric API. You don’t need to install Cloth Config.
- Install the mod on the client.
- Install Fabric API.
- Launch the game.
- Open the BetterHitSounds config screen.
- Choose whether to go with OGG mode or Preset mode.
- Import your own sounds or use the preset.
- Preview your stuff and you are ready to go
