Light Block behaviour in vanilla
The hitbox will show when you hold an item. This is normal and can be achieved even WITHOUT the mod.

Light Block behaviour with this mod
With the mod installed, the hitbox will show even without holding any/other item. Note that the vanilla approach still works.
