[MTR4] Zhongtong Base Pack
Adds a base pack (as well as a retexturing kit) for all community-made zhongtong retextures on MTR!
Zhongtong Base Pack
Introducing Base Packs:
These packs give you, the end users, the ability to easily retexture and distribute my models! Please refer to the Terms of Use section before making your first pack.
This pack features the following vehicles:
- Zhongtong N18 (an articulated 18m, 3-door bus)
- Zhongtong N12 (a standard 12m, 2-door bus)
And the following features:

- Working indicator lights
- Custom door animations for the front door (and rear door on the N12)
- Bus sounds
- Fleet number on the N18 (located in the rear, front and side)
- PBR textures (requires a LabPBR-compatible shader)
- Destination displays (and an interior display for the N18)
- Left AND right hand drive variants!

Retexturing these buses
You can now create your own liveries for these buses!
Instructions (Click to expand)
1.) Download the BASE PACK and the RETEXTURING KIT found in the versions tab.
1.a) Extract the Retexturing kit, in order to work on it
2.) Add both the Retexturing Kit and the Base Pack to your resourcepacks folder
2.a) Enable both packs
3.) Inside the retexturing kit, duplicate the ztn12/ztn18_retexture1 folders and give them appropriate names. (i.e. FOLDER_NAME)
NOTE: Each folder corresponds to one vehicle ingame (both LHD and RHD)
3.a) Inside each folder, edit the zhongtong_base.png file on any image editor, with the instructions found in the image file.
3.b) Replace the seat.png texture with your own seat mouquette (or simply edit the existing one to fit your branding!)
4.) Setup the mtr_custom_resources.json file
Simply modify the existing mtr_custom_resources.json file, found under assets/mtr, by changing the following properties:
- id - should be an UNIQUE id for each vehicle
- name - also unique per vehicle, should state your company's name
- models[2].modelResource - currently its set to retexture:ztn12_retexture1/base.obj. You should change it to retexture:FOLDER_NAME/base.obj, where FOLDER_NAME is the name of the folder where your retextured bus is
5.) Enjoy your retextured zhongtongs!

- You may NOT merge the base pack OR any of its files (including models, definitions, textures...) into your retextured pack. You should instead upload your resource pack AS IS and include this base pack as a dependency AND/OR in the description.
- You may NOT redistribute this pack
- You may ADD the BASE PACK into a ModRinth Modpack
- You may DISTRIBUTE your retextured pack, privately or publicly, AS LONG as you include this project in its dependencies/description. Your pack WILL NOT work without the base pack (if it does that means that you're breaking at least one of the above terms)
